Lloyd’s List Turkish Shipping Awards postponed until 2011
Since 2007, the Lloyds List Turkish Shipping Awards, an internationally-recognised event, has paid tribute to the outstanding achievements by Turkish companies and individuals who have provided extraordinary service to the Turkish maritime industry.
Companies both large and small have been honoured in the past and we have also been privileged to recognise the achievements of personalities such as Cengiz Kaptanoglu, Capt Altay Altug, Lucien Arkas and Suay Umut who have given a lifetime of service to the Turkish maritime community.
The past 12 months have continued to be extremely challenging for all sectors of the Turkish maritime community and after consultation with industry organisations, individuals and sponsors, the Award organisers have come to the conclusion that it would be appropriate to defer this event until 2011.
While the decision was made reluctantly, we believe that it is in the best interests of all concerned.
However, we fully intend to present the Lloyds List Turkish Shipping Awards again in 2011 and we look forward to resuming our relationships with all our supporting organisations, sponsors and supporters.
We are grateful for the past and on-going support of many sponsors of the Turkish Shipping Awards and congratulate them for their continuing recognition of this important national event for Turkey.
We look forward to welcoming the Turkish maritime community to the 2011 Lloyd's List Turkish Shipping Awards.
